9/14/2023 0 Comments Paint shop pro 2021I use the raster app in the suite, Photo-Paint, for photo editing and painting. I use the vector app in that suite for graphic art such as logos, stickers, and signs (it makes me money). The Ctrl key and levels slider to display blown highlights works with PSP 2018.you just have to be patient and jiggle it a bit.Ĭheap houses edited this topic 33 months ago.The thing is, I am a decades-long user of the CorelDRAW graphics suite. It does take a little time to calculate especially on a slower computer - perhaps you need to hold ctrl for a little longer - just a thought. i'm using the same version and just comfirmed again. I have X2.50 version (Ulitmate) of pspp it works for me I'm guessing the CTRL key trick is for versions of PSP prior to X2 Ulitmate as it didn't work for me. I don't think there's a way to 'store' the selected values in PSP, but it's esy to write them down or remember them.ĭelete the threshold layer, open a Levels, Curves or Histogram Adjustment layer and type the upper and lower clipping points. Note the upper threshold value you want to apply, then repeat for the shadows, setting the control to 1 (completely white image) and adjusting up until the shadows begin to appear. Hold ctrl and move the right handle in the levels dialogue to see blown highlights and the left handle to see clipped shadows.Īlternatively, open a threshold layer, set to 255 (completely black image) then adjust down to until the highlights begin to appear. PSP will show clipped shadows or blocked highlights if you hold ctrl while adjusting a slider.Īre you referring to pressing CTRL while using levelsand moving your pointer around in the before pane? However, using the histogram will help as well. To explain further, as you adjust the threshold in PS the picture gradually goes whiter and whiter as progressivly darker shades are whited out, so you can see where the darkest area is. You would use the Threshold to do this in Photoshop, so maybe you can find a Threshold plugin for PSP. I've used in in versions 9 thru X2 utimate. Here is a curves plug-in that works well and will do what you want. Unfortunately PSP's curves tool is pretty basic. Is there any way to display what parts of an image are blown out or blocked? This would be especially useful in the Curves and Levels dialogs to show when an adjustment has 'gone to far'.
